My dentist suggested this item. I obtained one and have been very happy with the results. Easy to use, easy to clean. All the accessories are useful in their own way. If you have braces this is a definite must have. Flossing is a good thing, this is an added plus. If you care about keeping your mouth clean, get one!

I have used an old little Philips water jet for many years and I really liked it. Having moved to a new place, I tried to find something similar for the bathroom and was disappointed to see lack of competition on the market in this area. After reading the reviews I decided to get this model and I am very happy with it. I picked mine at Walgreen’s for 55 on sale.

PROS:
Good looking, not too large, relatively quiet, right size water tank, good range of water pressure control, ergonomically designed, tips are super-easy to connect and to remove, attachments and tube are nicely stowed away.

CONS:
Too pricey, but that’s what lack of competition does, the tube could be a little longer in my opinion.

Recommended.

I bought the Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet for my boyfriend for Christmas. He ABSOLUTELY loved it! The quality of the product was fantastic and he said it did wonders for his teeth. I thought the price was very reasonable. I would recommend this product if you are looking for a waterpik.

Want to keep your teeth?, November 9, 2008
Aside from a very good toothbrush (one of the various makes of “sonic” style electric brush), the best thing you can do to keep your teeth is clean between them. Flossing does a good job, but strong enough waterpick does an excellent job. Use all three and your dentist will be amazed.

The waterpick device is a vibration style pump that pushes spurts of water through an small nozzle you hold. The water is used to clean between the teeth, and between the teeth and gum line. This removes debris, plaque, and bacteria, and helps keep your teeth and gums healthy. Depending on the pressure, it can do a much more thorough job than flossing.

This particular device has enough pressure so as to be able to cause discomfort. I highly suggest starting at a low pressure and turning it up, until you know where “your” pressure is. It is not a device for everyone, children (etc) should not use it without supervision. A good dentist will caution you that though it can remove debris, if misused, it can also cause debris to become wedged, and possibly damage the gums and other soft tissues.

I consider it to be essential, along with my electric tooth brush and floss.
